French Type Jacketed Gaskets, are enclosed in a metal Jacket, which covers the inside diameter of the gasket and completely covers the sealing faces on both sides. French style gaskets are ideal for both small and large diameters in narrow and wide flange widths in both circular and non circular configurations, with either a metallic or non metallic asbestos free filler. The filler material gives the gasket resilience, while the metal jacket  protects the filler and resists pressures, temperatures and corrosion. French type Jacketed Gaskets are manufactured using hand made techniques. Typical applications include vacuum seals and valve bonnet seals of low pressure.  The temperature limitation is dictated by the combination of metallic and non-metallic materials used in their construction. The resilience and recovery properties of these gaskets are limited. French Type Jacketed  Gaskets require exacting conditions of flange surface finish, high bolt loads and flange flatness in order to seal.   Minimum flange width 6.4mm (1/4").  Normal gasket thickness is 3.2mm (1/8"). These gaskets can be provided with graphite faces.

A wide range of materials are available, to suit specific temperature and corrosive conditions.
